How Our Process Works

  1. Click on our Loan Application and complete the information.  If you are more comfortable calling, we will be happy to take your information over the phone.
  2. We'll receive it, review it, and determine what bank will offer the best option.  We typically narrow it down to one or two. 
  3. Additional information may be requested at this point (typically tax returns and statements on loans $150k+)
  4. Normally, an approval will be same day or next business day.
  5. Once we have an approval, we will discuss with you what documentation is required for your loan.
  6. Most boats over 35'  require Coast Guard Documentation- smaller boats are state titled- we work closely with several documentation services that have been approved by the banks.   Our in house closing department will ensure that your title and registration is properly transferred and handled.
  7. When we receive an approval, then it's time to set up the insurance- 2 or 3% deductible required. We have insurers with Breakwater Insurance that can assist you or you can use your own provider.
  8. Loan Documentation will be emailed to you- You will sign it with a Notary, and overnight it back to our closing department at Intercoastal Financial Group.
  9. The bank will review it and will initiate a wire to pay off an existing loan, the seller, or the dealer.
